Michael C. Hamersley

For more than 25 years, Michael has specialized in matters involving the federal income taxation of business transactions. He advises business entities, equity owners and high net worth individuals regarding tax and business planning.  His areas of expertise include business formation, distributions, redemptions, liquidations, mergers, acquisitions, tax-free reorganizations, dispositions, spin-offs, buy-outs and various other domestic and international corporate and partnership transactions. Michael also represents taxpayers in IRS and state tax audits and appeals involving transactional tax matters.

Michael earned his Juris Doctorate from Georgetown University Law Center and his M.B.A. from Florida International University. He is a licensed attorney in Maryland and is authorized to practice before the IRS and U.S. Tax Court.
